Tempest is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting professional who has the desire to work in a fast-paced environment in a new and exciting role. As a Sourcing Specialist, you will support one of our top sales teams by owning both the day-to-day sourcing requests as well as strategic sourcing projects.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with Sales Team on organizing and managing monthly supply demand reports, various available equipment reports, and sales & repair history that is to be used for planning purposes and proactive stocking strategies
- Analyzing historical sales data to identify trends and common themes for more informed sales efforts
- Researching data that will support sales efforts for expansion with new products
- Building, developing, and maintaining supplier vendor relationships
- Sending and managing purchase orders to vendors
- Managing team inventory
- Obtaining quotes from suppliers and doing a comparative analysis
- Suggesting inventory optimization strategies
- Creating a more efficient, focused sourcing process to save costs, maximize profitability and support new sales
- Extreme ownership and cradle-to-grave project management
- Ensuring reports and databases are up to date and accurate
Required Skills:
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Analytical and detail oriented
- Research and negotiation skills
- Time management capabilities
- Supply Chain and Logistics experience or business degree a plus
- MUST be fully vaccinated
Location: Santa Barbara, CA – position is preferably on-site, however, hybrid can be discussed
Compensation: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour + variable incentive
