The Ericsson 5216 KDU137925/31 Baseband is upgraded and powerful baseband unit within the RBS6000 product portfolio. On this one board, it is able to handle twice as many cells as existing DUS baseband units; supports both LTE FDD and TDD, WCDMA and GSM modes simultaneously; and supports up to 80,000 subscribers.
The Baseband unit provides switching, traffic management, timing, baseband processing, and radio interfacing. Baseband 5216 is supported from software L15B, W16A, and G16B.
